Neuroscience is fascinating. My go-to on the subject is Joe Dispenza. You are on the right path with your examples here. I added creating 1 to 2 minute distractions from my thoughts. Things that made me " feel" joy, not just words, that I could engage my senses. May I recommend a similar distraction of a song or visual that makes you feel strong to use to distract the train of weak thoughts
